How the news desk works

A useful update should explain what changed, who it affects and where the evidence comes from.

Sources and review

Our research pipeline retains original source text and exact supporting passages. Drafts stay private until an editor reviews the evidence, dates, account scope and wording, then explicitly publishes the story. An AI draft alone cannot publish an update.

Sources are attributed as facts, company statements or allegations. A complaint or a company claim is not presented as an independently established outcome.

Dates and account scope

Observed, published, effective and offer expiry dates have different meanings. Unknown effective dates and account cohorts stay explicit. The shared source-check line describes the last scheduled collection job, rather than an editorial review of every story.

Changes and archives

Rule-change reports require complete before and after captures of the same source URL. A first capture establishes a baseline. Failed or partial captures cannot prove a removed policy. Editors compare complete retained originals, normalizing line endings only. Public articles display short cited excerpts and a hash identifying the full private original; excerpts cannot establish a complete text comparison.

Full source captures and any archived assets are retained privately for review. Readers can follow the original source links and inspect cited excerpts. The quality label describes the retained original, not a promise of complete interactive page replay.

Impact labels and corrections

High impact covers material eligibility, risk, account closure or payout-access changes. Medium impact covers meaningful operating or program conditions. Low impact covers routine announcements or limited promotions. The label is an editorial assessment, not a rating of the firm.

Corrections include a public reason and retain earlier published revisions. Expired offers remain in the historical feed. Firm follows include corrections and can be disabled in your account or through any watch email’s unsubscribe link.
